Career summary

Kenny, whose nickname is “Moose” got involved in athletics at an early age - he had always played basketball and football at school, but his PE teacher saw potential in him and got him involved in the javelin, discus and shot put.

He has won a hat-trick of golds at the Atlanta, Sydney and Athens Paralympics, but his ambition is to take the world record beyond 55m.

A former Teeside Sports personality of the year, he has worked part-time coaching sports and enjoys watching basketball and follows the LA Lakers as well as Sheffield Wednesday.

His partner is Claire Williams, a discus thrower who competed at the Athens 2004 Paralympic Games. They have a daughter, Gracie, born October 2007.
