Career summary

David,a keen Arsenal fan, took up athletics at the age of eight and competed at Atlanta 96 as a 17-year-old, after which he took a break from the sport and missed the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games.

His breakthrough year was 2006 where he set World records over 200m and 400m and took a hat trick of Gold at the World Championships. He won the Best Performance in a British Vest award at the British Athletics Writers Association awards ceremony.

In 2007 he beat Australian Kurt Fearnley in the Flora London Marathon - the current Paralympic champion who had been undefeated over the distance for several years previously.

He works part time as a DJ.
