Career summary

Bev moved from the sprints to the throws after starting athletics relatively late.

She has concentrated more on the throws in recent years, with great success. In 2007 she started competing in the discus event as well as shot put and is also qualified in discus now for the Beijing Paralympic Games.

Deeside athlete Bev became the Norwich Union Great Britain and Northern Ireland team's first gold medallist of the Assen 2006 IPC Athletics World Championships when she won the F37 shot with a World Record throw of 10.57m on day one of the competition.

Bev is a regular competitor for her club Gloucester AC in women’s league competition and in 2008 won her first major non-disabled title, winning the Welsh Indoor Shot Put with a distance better than her current world record.
