Career summary

  • Andrew has become Britain’s top 1500m runner, despite an ongoing recurrence of a problem with heart palpitations.

  • A promising winter in 2006 was frustrating for Andy after he fell in the final of the 800m at the AAA Indoors and broke his wrist. Further misfortune followed with a heavy fall in the final of the Commonwealth Games 1500m.

  • After the summers of 2006 and 2007 he is now regarded as the UKs top middle distance athlete. Andrew is a graduate in aerospace engineering which he studied at Cambridge University. He is now taking a Master’s degree in sports science at St Mary’s, where he is a part-time lecturer.
