Course Measurement

A requirement of UKA Rules is that all Road Race Championships held in the United Kingdom must have their distance measured by a UKA accredited Course Measurer, following IAAF procedures. This applies to Championships at National, Area and County levels. National championships must have been measured by a grade 1 measurer.

A Certificate of Accuracy of the stated distance is then issued by the relevant Regional Course Measurement Secretary. The certificate should be prominently displayed at the race, and the logo displayed below may be used on race literature. To save the logo onto your computer, right click on the image and then choose 'Save Picture As'.

Failure to obtain certification could result in invalidation of Championship status.

It is the objective of the UKA that all other Road Races, that are advertised as being a specific distance, hold a current certificate of course accuracy.

Full details on how to apply for a course to be measured can be obtained from the Course Measurement website.
