UK Athletics has progressed their search for a new Chairman and Chief Executive this week with both roles being advertised this Sunday (1
st October). The vacancy of Chief Executive has arisen following the recent resignation of current CEO Dave Moorcroft. The post of Chairman is being created to strengthen the UKA leadership team in the build up to London 2012.
The Chairman will lead and manage the UKA Board, act as an ambassador for athletics and foster relations with key stakeholders. He/she will work closely with the Chief Executive.
The incoming Chief Executive will be charged with ensuring the delivery of the long term strategy for UKA and ensuring success at London 2012. Leading, managing, motivating and developing a world class organisation will be central to the role. The Chief Executive will also be expected to promote effective relations with the Home Countries and establish a sustainable legacy for the sport at every level.
Ian Fox, the non-executive board member leading the recruitment process, said today:
