Kathy's tough warm-up in USA

Kathy Butler (Windsor, Slough, Eton and Hounslow AC) celebrated being named by the Norwich Union Great Britain and Northern Ireland selectors to run in the 5000m at the European Championships in Gothenburg by taking fourth place in the Quad-City Times Bix 7 miles road race in Davenport, Indiana, on Saturday 29 July.

She clocked 38 minutes 34 seconds after battling through 85% humidity and temperatures nudging 80° in a race dominated by Kenyan athletes. Susan Chepkemei won in 37:35.
