The F.I.T. Injury Prevention and High Performance courses for athletics coaches is a series of 1-day courses designed for coaches of all athletics events. It trains coaches to assess athletes and identify risk areas that may cause injuries. The courses highlights the main risk factors, how to identify them and explains the process by which they can cause injuries. Coaches are taught to use this information to prescribe an exercise programme to address problems highlighted by the tests and how this will reduce the risk of injury and improve performance.
Course Content
- Introduction to Biomechanical and Exercise Models.
- How to assess an athlete and identify potential weak links and relate them to past and potential injuries.
- How to assess and implement isolated and functional core conditioning programmes.
- How to train the correct motor recruitment strategies.
- The use of functional patterning training and functional velocity training programmes to reduce injury risk and to optimally prepare the athlete.
