UK Event Coaches announced

UK Athletics has confirmed the appointment of UK Event Coaches, (previously National Event Coaches) and / or Event Co-ordinators, across the Event Management Groups (EMGs) to lead the delivery of UK squads and contribute towards the drive to raise standards in every event, every region and every age group.

This follows the appointment of Tony Hadley, as the final EMG Chair for Speed. Hadley joins Toni Minichiello, Chair of Combined events, Bob Ashwood, Chair of Endurance, Dave Young, Chair of Jumps and Abi Ekoku, Chair of Throws.
The appointments have been made following a recruitment process involving the Senior Co-ordinators, Michelle Dunkley, Derek Redmond and Spencer Barden and the Senior Performance Managers, Alan Storey, Aston Moore and John Trower, as well as Callum Orr, Head of Coaching & Teaching.

The roles are effective from 1 September 2006 until 31 March 2009, in line with the One Stop Plan timeline. 

No appointment has yet been made for the UK Event Coach role for 800m/ 1500m, 100m/ 200m and Javelin. The Event Management Groups will meet again in September / early October and review the roles to be filled.
