Norwich Union is celebrating its tenth year as the team behind UK Athletics, continuing its commitment to making it easier for athletes of today and tomorrow to achieve their dreams. Since our sponsorship began in 1999 we have engaged six million children in athletics and our ambition is for this figure to increase to 15 million by 2012, creating a long-term legacy for the sport. One third of Norwich Union’s funding is invested in four grassroots and development programmes, namely Norwich Union star:track, Norwich Union sports:hall, the Norwich Union shine:awards and Norwich Union Elevating Athletics.

While for most children, sport is about fun and learning key life skills, for some it is the start of a dream. Our support of UK Athletics enables that dream to become more accessible. We are giving our athletes the best possible foundations on which to develop and perform by offering junior athlete development mentoring and coaching from iconic athletes who have achieved at the very highest level, by supporting the Norwich Union GB & NI athletics team before, during and after major championships and by providing world class events for them to compete in on home soil.
