Natural mineral water brand Aqua-Pura is strengthening its association with sport and athletics through an exclusive three year sponsorship agreement with UK Athletics. The new deal is designed to drive further brand awareness and capitalise on growing consumer knowledge about the importance of staying well hydrated during exercise. The partnership will see Aqua-Pura stadium branding at major athletics events across the UK that attract a combined television audience of up to 20 million people each year. The deal also includes promotions in national sports and fitness press and at key health and fitness exhibitions. As part of the programme, Aqua-Pura will be supporting UK Athletics’ Women in Athletics initiative, which encourages more women and girls to get involved with grass roots athletics.

 

David Patmore, marketing director for Aqua-Pura, said: "People are now more aware than ever that staying well hydrated will help improve their performance during exercise. "This has helped boost sales of bottled water, which have grown by over 50 per cent in the past six years. "By extending our sponsorship with UK Athletics we can build on Aqua-Pura’s existing association with sport and fitness and make sure that the brand is ideally placed to meet growing demand for healthier food and drink products."

 

David Moorcroft, former chief executive of UK Athletics, added: "Hydration in sport is absolutely vital. As official bottled water of UK Athletics, Aqua-Pura will supply the GB and NI athletics teams with this essential resource and help remind many amateur athletes that drinking plenty of water will help them to stay in peak condition."
