Career summary

  • Tracey had cancer of the retina at the age of four which resulted in her visual impairment. Classified as a T11 runner, she often races against T12 athletes who have an element of sight and often do not require guide runners.

  • Tracey had an Achilles injury that ruled her out of competition for almost two years, but in her first competitive race back she won the T11 400m gold at the 2006 Visa Paralympic World Cup.

  • She is often challenged by having to compete in higher classifications against athhletes with some vision and she adapts well. In Beijing she will compete against her own classification over 100m and 200m but will compete against T12 in the 400m.
