Career summary

  • Sophie has always enjoyed participating in sport and was a keen swimmer before she took up the discus and javelin.

  • A full time athlete due to the support she receives from her funding she is hoping for big things in the future. Ultimately Sophie wishes to compete at the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games and of course win a medal.

  • Outside of training she enjoys listening to music and socialising, she is from a sporting background, her sister who is also into athletics, specialising in the Marathon and her brother who is on an American Soccer Scholarship.

  • Always up for a challenge she recently took part in a BBC programme 'Beyond Boundaries' where she got to experience many different activities including white water rafting.
