Dean is studying physiotherapy at Birmingham University, where he has linked up with prolific endurance coach Bud Baldaro.

He made his debut for GB in 2006 where he made the final in his first ever international - it was a great breakthrough year for him as he took 8 seconds off his 800m PB, and 16 seconds off his 1500m PB.

He set his PB for 800m at the British Open championships in 2007. He has previously represented his area in the English Schools Cross Country Championships, and has won titles at national level.
