A keen Newcastle United fan, Daniel was a good standard County footballer and cricketer before he took up athletics.

He began on the track as a wheelchair racer, following three completed Great North Runs for charity. Following an invitation to a throws training weekend, Danny began his progression in the sport.

Winner of the British Wheelchair Athletics Association’s Athlete of the year award in 2004 and 2007 he first represented GB in Taipei at the IWAS Games. Danny threw a PB and a new British record to show excellent potential on the international stage.

He works as a sponsorship consultant with Norwich Union the team behind UK Athletics, who have been supportive in his progression.
