Career summary

  • A keen Newcastle United fan, Daniel was a good standard County footballer and cricketer before he took up athletics.

  • He began on the track as a wheelchair racer, following three completed Great North Runs for charity. Following an invitation to a throws training weekend, Danny began his progression in the sport.

  • Winner of the British Wheelchair Athletics Association’s Athlete of the year award in 2004 and 2007 he first represented GB in Taipei at the IWAS Games. Danny threw a PB and a new British record to show excellent potential on the international stage.

  • He works as a sponsorship consultant with Norwich Union the team behind UK Athletics, who have been supportive in his progression.
