Before athletics Brian was part of Bury Bombers basketball team – and was once National junior champion in that sport.

He was inspired to take up wheelchair racing when he met Dame Tanni Grey Thompson.

Outside of training he works as an information assistant for his local council. Brian has a celtic dragon tattoo on his right arm, and one of the people he most admires in life is Lance Armstrong because of the challenges he’s faced in his career.
