Prize Structure
UK £5K Golden Challenge
If athletes achieve all of the following criteria:-
- Achieve the highest points or equal highest, based on performance points not bonus points, at one of the 42 Challenge qualifying events.
- Top of their Individual Event Rankings after all 42 qualifying events.
- UK Challenge Champion in their relevant event at the Final.
They will either win outright or take a share of £5000. If 2 or more athletes achieve the criteria they will share equally the prize fund.
UKC Class Champions
Athletes will be divided into their relevant event groupings, Sprints, Jumps, Endurance & Throws. Their `Fantastic Four` scores will be calculated plus any bonus points and ranked alongside their fellow athletes within that event group. Male and Female athletes will be ranked together to form one table. The 4 performances must be from the same event, such as 4 Javelin scores, not from across the 4 throws disciplines.
The athletes at the top of the table after the last qualifying event on the 3rd August will be crowned as `UKC Class Champions` and awarded £250. If 2 or more athletes tie on the same points after the last qualifying event the prize will be divided equally amongst them.
UK Challenge Records
Breaking a record wins you a bottle of Heidsieck & Co Monopole Champagne
£100 Crew
Highest Point Scorers, based on performance points not bonus points, in each of the 42 Challenge Qualifying meets wins £100. If two or more winners the money is divided equally. Athletes can only win this prize once during the UK Challenge.
The winners of the BAL matches will be awarded the Athlete of the Match by BAL. This will be using their own criteria for the presentation of the £100.
Athlete of the Month
For the 3 months of the UK Challenge, May, June and July (August is excluded) the athlete with the most points earned during that month will be awarded an adidas kit package. All points gathered at all of the events during that month will be considered
Athlete of the Series - Male and Female
Courtesy of WGT Sport Ltd, we will be offering a Male and Female Athlete of the Challenge and the prize will consist of Warm Weather Training Package for two people (you plus coach, athlete, partner etc).
The award will be made to the athletes who out perform all others during the course of the Challenge and will be presented at the UK Challenge Final.
Best Improved Athletes
The 10 most improved athletes during the course of the UK Challenge will win a pair of Adidas Trainers. Compare your Fantastic Four points total from last season compared to this season. Those 10 athletes who have the highest points increase at the end of the year will be awarded the Trainers.

In addition...
P10
If an athlete wins their event and achieves a newly improved or first time P10 National mark at the Final they will win the number of points they achieved from their `Fantastic Four` during the course of UK Challenge.
Eg, based on 2006…if Leon Baptiste wins the 100m and achieves a newly improved or first time National P10 mark he would win £654 (as his points total for the year). This is in addition to the £400 for 1st place.
