The objective of the Athletics Facilities Planning & Delivery document 2007-2012, which can be downloaded as a PDF document below, is to ensure that appropriate athletics facilities of the correct standard are available to support the development of athletics to the Olympic Games of 2012 and beyond.
The aim is to help facility providers - local authorities, schools, colleges, universities and others - recognise what type of facilities are required, where they should be located and how they might be funded.
It should also help governing bodies, education establishments and athletics clubs focus on recognising where there are gaps in provision, how these gaps might be filled, identify the type of provision needed and how they might access appropriate funding.
